I bought mine for $319 before the prices really took off.
Unlike some who buy them for shits and giggles I bought mine to circumvent the discouragement that my state gives us to carry long guns in the vehicle. I mean you can but there are restrictions. Anyway, it rides in my GHB and has been there for about 5yrs now. Only thing I've added is a loop of paracord wedged between the grip and the receiver that my cheap $4 silent sling attaches to. I'm thinking of making some changes and here they are... 1. New grip. I like the Ergo-Sure-Grip on one of my ARs. I'm thinking that that rubber, texture, and shape would make it more comfy on the AK but maybe another grip is preferred/popular...? 2. New forend. Rails would be a plus but none of these crappy ones that I have to dremmel just to get the cleaning rod to fit. 3. Sling stud in the back. I know there are kits to add a sling stud in the rear of the receiver. I haven't seen any lately. Any suggestions? 4. New sling. I want something comfortable and functional. Right now my gun hangs at my knee caps if I let it hang. I'd like it to stay in the torso area so I can wear it under a coat if the need arises. Thanks -Emt1581 |

For what you paid for it,you have plenty of wiggle to put some money into it,and still be below current value. You can always switch it back to stock mode, and sell off the accessories instead of selling them with the gun if you decide to sell it. That's true. But what are the preferred accessories in regard to grip, forend, sling, etc.? This guy explained his...I just don't like the part about the cleaning rod not fitting right. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FNmaXlptUM Thanks -Emt1581 |
I used the Stormwerkz sling attachment on mine before I SBR'd it. Uses the same pattern as the Ace stock so it is easy to switch it over. I also like the MFT handguards. Add a heat shield and they are good to go. MFT
