Anyone have any experience using a Trijicon Reflex on an AK type with the RX24 mount?  I am interested in this setup but it looks like it sits high and might make for a bad cheeck weld.  I am also considering an Ultimak but I have heard they can fit loosley, don' t hold zero, and I don't know which one to get for a Romanian SAR-1.  Any thoughts?

Link to the mount?

Most like the Ultimak, only wee bit of shim/file comments overall.
I started trying a TDI molded plastic upper handguard, $45 at show, seems good so far but too early to really report on this new item.

For Trij $$ and always on function, check out the PK-AS reports. Many feel it is $220 well-spent, side rail mount included.

Ultimak tales:

- Will overheat your optic = BS
- Won't hold zero... = BS

I've got an Aimpoint CompML2 on the ultimak and A) it holds its zero as good as any weaver mount...and B)I shoot IPSC type matches with this weapon, lots of rounds in rapid succession. Trust me the Aimpoint can stand the heat, that's why it has been send into the US army kitchen.. And so has the trijicon...

On a SAR1 Ultimak suggests to use to use the Ultimak M1B, it's a standard gastube lenght mount without the vent holes. They have a picture of a SAR1 w/ Aimpoint on their photo gallery.. It's the same setup I have on my FEG AK47
