After I finish all the rounds in a magazine, I have a great deal of trouble removing it from the rifle. The magazine release gets really stiff and takes a lot of force. to operate.
Any suggestions? I have already done a little filing on the upper lip of the magazine release. Is filing the solution to this problem? |
| Have you tried other magazines in your rifle? It's probably best to do that first and go from there. Not all magazines are exactly the same. The Kalashnikov was designed for loose tolerances/lots of different magazines but often none are exactly perfectly fitting. |

If ALL of the magazines you try cause the catch to stick, file the catch with a fine file, checking all of the magazines often so you dont remove any more than is necessary.

You may have to work on the mag catch. But first, get ahold of some different mags and see if you have this problem. I had a G build that would be very picky on what mags worked. This gun would not shoot any of the Hungarian 20rnd mags I tried. I ended up testing about six euro mags and found two that worked flawlessly and they went with the gun when I sold it. Trial and error with ak mags.
