Does anyone reload for their AK-47 ?

I just bought a SAM7R-61 and was thinking about trying to load a accurate hunting round for it. I have not slugged the barrel on it yet   Arsenal said the bore diameter on it is .312.

Do you have a favorite load?

Try over in Reloading in the Armory.  So much steel case ammo available, very few reloading.

You are a god. Could you do a thread with your process and links for each part?

No God, just a guy who has reloaded for awhile. When I got into AK's wanted to load for them also. Here is your link,

On page 3 I get into Steel case reloading.

To keep from getting to far off topic for this Forum, please ask further questions in the Reloading Forum.  http://www.ar15.com/forums/f_6/42_Reloading.html

I'm not hard to find there, and it's been a while since we have had a 7.63x39 reloading thread running.

http://www.midwayusa.com/product/613249/lee-2-cavity-bullet-mold-c309-160-1r-30-caliber-309-diameter-160-grain-1-ogive-radius-gas-check

I use this mold. Scrounged lead (free) gas check is .03 each.

Steel case picked off ground with magnet (free).

Primer .03 each.

Powder .05 each round.

So costs me .11 a round for soft shooting plinking ammo that will cycle a AK and not lead the barrel.

Takes some time, but I like to reload. See sig line.

I accually have 3 of these molds.

eta, gas check is the copper cup on the end of the bullet.
