thx in advance
i did not have a lot of time at the range to monkey with it, as i fired my other guns first and my hour was almost up. it was a little rough to chamber with a tapco mag, a little rough with the metal mag as well. popping the first round out, it left a scrape all the way down the nose of the round. i could not tell if the bolt carrier did it or the feed ramp. as it had a scrape on it as well. fired a few rounds, round number 3 or 4 failed to feed, when i pulled bolt back there was a empty case stuck above the one trying to load. it was facing the rear of the gun. cleared it, rechambered and fired again. got two rounds off and click, this time both empties were still inside. switched to the metal mag as the tapco was a very snug fit. got one round off same thing. cleared tried again same thing. i shot my amd-65 with the same ammo ulanoysk fmj and not a hiccup. i think i still have the dinged round, but i did not think to save some empties to look at. now i did not clean the gun before shooting other than some grease at the muzzle and sight area from packing. i will try to get some pics of it soon so maybe one of the faithful will notice whats wrong, and if its a simple fix or needs a rma trip. i have other ammo to try, and mags to try but don't think they are the problem. i was thinking bad spring,,,,,,, or maybe the friggin bolt carrier rails are crooked..... |

now i did not clean the gun before shooting other than some grease at the muzzle and sight area from packing. Always try the simplest solution first: Clean the gun throughly. Since the Romanians slather preservative all over weapons they export to protect them during the long sea voyage, when you think it's clean, do it again. Pay particular attention to the chamber. Disassemble the bolt and get the extractor, the extractor spring and the area of the bolt were those are installed clean. Then try shooting it. If it's still malfunctioning, check to see if the carrier is binding: Remove the top cover. Squeeze the trigger and hold it back. Pull the operating handle to the rear and release it. Does it go forward smoothly? Without releasing the trigger, remove the operating spring. Move the carrier back and forth. Does it bind or drag on the rails/receiver any where? If a bad spring is causing or contributing to the problem, it's probably the extractor spring. |
