Just bought a B2. Typical Century build. It is straight and tight except for the dust cover. The cover looks like it is short by about a 1/8" at the front block and moves all over the place. Is there a fix for this or is the rifle out of spec? BTW, it does lock in. It wont fall off but it I can see it rattling when I shoot. I have a B1 that does not do this, although it is a custom build. |
| Coming up from the inside of the cover, stick a large screwdriver thru the slot in the back of the cover and pry the rear of the cover outward (toward the butt stock). This will bow the rear of the cover and effectively make it longer. I had to do this on one of my Romys whose cover was an 1/8" too short. It's a quick and easy fix for a cover that is too short. Only takes a few seconds and it's practically invisible to the eye. |
| If Century will warranty it, replacing the cover would be my first move as well. I wouldn't send the rifle to the monkeys to be fixed, I would only request that a new cover be sent as a replacement. As far as bending (elongating) the cover, it is a very common fix for this problem. Many people have done it (myself included) and it works quite well. Don't knock it if you haven't tried it... |

Unless this thing has operating problems, I will refrain from sending the whole thing back. Good idea about measuring the cover. I will compare it to my other Yugo and see if it is the same. If not, I will demand a new one, or another one. BTW 767, I believe they are different at least in looks. The romy's have ribs and yugo's do not. I think both will fit, not sure. Never tried it. |
