I took out my AK baby to the range today. First I'd like to state that anyone who is paranoid about cops saying anything is retarded. We talked to two cops, both wanted to just look at and fire the gun. We noticed that we started having a casing ejection problem. The gun wasn't fully ejecting all the casings. Every couple shots, for the most part, would eject and fire fine, then one casing would jam on ejection. Has anyone had this problem? What could possibly cause it? Thanks Edit: It's an NDS-3 Receiver with a Romanian Parts kit. Ammo was Wolf Soft Point |
| I've heard you can build it up with weld then file it to size. In my case I cut the rail out and welded a new one in. I had the parts on hand already and it took about an hour or more. My receiver was just a blank that I put together, which now works just as well as any of the 100% receivers that I have. In your case since you have a more quality product I would try to repair the rail. Hopefully somebody that has experience with this will speak up. |

been there done that. Take it to a GOOD WELD SHOP. have it built up with TIG. Tell them you wnat it as hard as possible. It may cost $20 but it is worth it. Using a pair of calipers (verner). Measuring from the left out side of the receiver the Ejector should measure about .540" I have some that work well at .525" and other that go almost .550" Rodger |

Im having th same sort of issue, but only when i fire mine rapidly. The shell will come almost all the way out and just barely get caught by the carrier. I have filed my ejector as well. My bolt/carrier slide pretty well on the receiver, but maybe that's the issue!?!?! |
| If it was not an NDS i'd say look at the distance from the tip of the ejector to the face of the front trunnion.. if that is too long you'll have ejector issues like crazy.. too short your ok (look for a huge gap between trunnion and ejector rail, should be 1/16") |
