Found a super nice FEG AK here at a pawn shop, but it is single stack. It looks like it just needs some metal taken away around the well, is this the same as the wasr's?

They are very similar to the WASR's in the fact that they are both AKM clones that take single stack mags. The single stack hungarians are actually kind of hard to find and if the price is good it would be a good candidate for a conversion. I believe that the same procedure to convert it as the WASR, and the same 922r rules apply.

Is 250 to much. It is in excellent shape. Has a fiberforce stock and looks to be a threaded barrel under the break.

sounds like an SA2000M rifle to me.  I used to have one and it worked great, I would definitely reccomend buying it and converting it.

$250 is a steal for that gun.

Yup. Don't expect the bbl to be threaded either.

$250 is what I paid for mine. A fair price considering what single stack WASRs bring, and that you are getting a good bit better quality.

I'm in the process of having mine converted now. Once I get it back, I'll post pics.

$250 is a good price but I bet the pawnshop owner would take less if you offered cash. Myself I would offer $175. Even if the shop won't budge that is a good price.
