I currently have a converted SAIGA 7.62x39.  Just recently I have been having issues with FTF.  I have on several occasions loaded a magazine with 30 rounds, pulled the slide back, chambered a round, and pulled the trigger and click, FTF.  Ejected the round, pulled the trigger and the rifle would function as it should.  But after several of rounds later, click, another FTF, eject that round the gun would fire as usual.  It has now gotten to the point that with a loaded magazine of 30 rounds, I would have maybe 5 plus FTF.  I have checked the primers on all the rounds, fired or not, and they all show the same contact marks on the primers.  I have on one occasion, took the bolt from my rifle, placed it in my buddy's rifle and experienced the same problems, but yet I didn't have any issues with his bolt in my rifle.  My buddy was also able to fire the FTF rounds from my rifle in his rifle with no issues. I also thought that the ammo that I was using may have been the problem, but that is not the case, because I continue to have the same problems with other types of ammo, i.e.: brass, steel, FMJ, HP, etc. I desperately need some help……..Thanks in advance.

Out of curiosity have you changed to a reduced power FCG spring? I have one in my S12 and it works great.

I liked what it did to the trigger pull so much I put it in my AKSU and SGL31 and immediately after I had the same problem, tons of FTF using 7N6 surplus ammo. Changed back to the regular hard hitting spring and all was well.

Has anything changed...new or different parts, modifying existing parts?

If not I'd suggest to field strip your bolt and see what the firing pin is doing or if anything looks odd. It's possible there could be some kind of debris or residue in the firing pin channel preventing it from going forward all the way.

Thanks for the quick reply....I forgot to mention that, I have shot several hundred rounds through this rifle prior to this problem.  I have also during the conversion, polished the bolt, firing pin, etc.  Maybe tomorrow, I'll look into purchasing a firing pin.

Interesting that you mentioned the after-market spring.  I did replace the stock spring with the after-market spring during the conversion, and with the combination of the polished bolt, hammer, etc. The pull went from the gritty nasty original pull, to an overly smooth, sometimes, scary light weight trigger pull.  I eventually replaced the after-market spring with the original spring.

At this point in time, other than the polished stuff, all parts are original, except for the 922r compliant parts.

You might have taken too much off the FP if you did indeed polish that. Also check to ensure the hammer spring isn't binding and is installed correctly.
