This is a curiosity question. I'm in the process of doing a Saiga trigger conversion and I encountered this part from the factory trigger group. Does anyone know what this part is called and what function it performs?

I think it's the hammer limiter. Check out Saiga12.com for an exploded diagram.

Looks like a hammer retarder, but it's missing the upper portion that would actually catch and slow the hammer. Probably there to keep the trigger and disconnector from walking.
