After stocking up on kits and tools, I finally got to work with my first rivet build.  It started as a Centerfire "shooter grade" Romy, but the barrel was pretty rough, so I swapped the barrel for a $40 Tapco barrel (when they had them).  Went together much easier than any other build, riveting really is where it's at--I had previously welded them together.  She's all headspaced and ready to test (it cycles and ejects rounds perfect).  I painted it with MolyResin, but didn't take a pic yet.  The receiver is kinda rough from the fiber pad on the die grinder getting it ready to smooth out

The backdrop is just the rifle in a Craftsman chair in the garage and the image turned 90 degrees

I really like the battlefield look, it looks pretty good right now with paint, but I need to rough it up to expose more of the metal.  I'll probably just end up abusing it to naturally make it look beat up.

Did the new barrel headspace correctly as it was or did you have to adjust it a little?

Headspaced as it was with just the barrel pin hole lined up.  I was nervous as to whether it would or not.  The trunion and bolt are off a 1986 Romy and the barrel is off a 1985 Romy in much better condition.

As promised, a completed pic.  I would like a little more gloss on the finish, I can always do that later....
