Took the new Century WASR 10/63 out to a friends land for a test run - went through 8 30rd clips without a hitch!!  Woohoo!! It fired each and every - no problems at all!

I was somewhat worried, having read all the Century threads, that I may have an issue or two and have to send it back. But they must be paying more attention on these newer ones as this one was a real peach! What a blast, too! I had no idea, having only fired a .22 in the past, how powerful an AK is! By God when you pull the trigger there is no doubt what just happened! And loud, too! My friend was plinking away with a .22 revolver and the AK was echoing throughout East Texas!

Got to get to cleaning - ;)

Thanks!

No doubt as to what just happened? 7.62x39 is an intermediate cartridge, I love it for how much easier it is on me than my 7.5x55 Swiss lol.

It might be the red headed step-child of the ak family- but it's still an ak.. Mine runs like there is no tomorrow and accurate too...

Ha, it happens. Congrats on the WASR. Yours sounds like mine. Runs like a fuggin Timex and is my favorite plinker.

Ha ha I know ... I guess I'm just not used to such a big bang - I know there are much bigger bangs out there.

There are certainly a lot of century AKs out there that are fine right out of the box. Nobody disputes that. There are a lot that have problems as well. I just got mine back from century yesterday, now I just need to take it out shooting on saturday to see if its fixed.

The problem Century had was primarily with their Polish Tantals.

The WASR's usually run fine if the mag well isn't way way to loose. Besides nasty wood, crooked everything, and mag wobble they are ok.

My WASR is straight as arrow. Mag well is in tolerance (There is SUPPOSED TO BE SOME "WOBBLE"), and the woods looks pretty nice.

Not everyone with a WASR is that lucky. They aren't all bad, but some of them are pretty messed up sometimes.
