I have a Saiga 7.62 that is converted to pistol grip and butt stock. I now would like to install a flash hider. Instead of buying a new front sight I would like to use the current one that came with the model by pressing it off, removing the forward sleeve, reinstalling, and threading the barrel. My question is, is a plunger/pin/spring required (such as on Bulgarian front sights) for a muzzle device to stay torqued on or would it eventually twist off? How about using a crush washer (ie. AR-15 style)? Has anybody else done this before? Thanks ahead of time.
