[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Front sight adjustment question

I just had my first build out for a test drive today before final finish, and it worked flawlessly. I put 100 rounds through it with no problems at all. However, it shoots low and left. The “low” part I can take care of, but what’s the best way to fix the windage? Is there a special tool to adjust this?

Either use one of these:

Or use a hammer and punch to drift the sight.

That sounds like a good way to put all sorts of ugly scratches on it.

Another method is to use a small C-clamp and a nut.

The hammer and punch sounds like a bad idea? The brass hammer and punch has been the standard way to drift sights for years. I drift sights for many rifles every year at our gun club and have yet to leave a single scratch.

I guess I thought that the "brass" part went without saying, but I forgot that I was speaking to a bunch of WECSOG graduates.

Thanks for the replies. This may be a stupid question, but I take it you mean move the 3/8" diameter pin on the side of the front sight base, correct?
