I need a no b/s assesment of a Arsenal Inc. SA M7 S. Pro & Cons? What about future replacement of the break with an orginal type ak-74 break? I just got my tax return back and I feel nothing suits it better than a firearm. A high quality AK at that. Also what's up with the lack of SA M7's on gunbroker lately? Know any other good (inexpensive) sources? Any of you guys know where to get a 3 point tac. sling actually made for this weapon. Rapid Fire's site says something about a Star Mfg. tac sling, but I can't find them anywhere on the web. Also, who's the best, in your opinions, to get a Kobra from? Sorry for all the questions.... |

"I need a no b/s assesment of a Arsenal Inc. SA M7 S. Pro & Cons?" it's overweight, but other than that it's pretty much all pluses. the muzzle brake works well, but is a tad fugly. the assembly and finish quality is top notch and the accuracy is usually reported as above average for ak's. "What about future replacement of the break with an orginal type ak-74 break?" i can be done. drive out a pin and press off the oem brake if you so desire. Also what's up with the lack of SA M7's on gunbroker lately? could it be that the secret is out and the owners like them? "Know any other good (inexpensive) sources? Any of you guys know where to get a 3 point tac. sling actually made for this weapon." hang on...i'll dig you up a link. "Rapid Fire's site says something about a Star Mfg. tac sling, but I can't find them anywhere on the web. Also, who's the best, in your opinions, to get a Kobra from? Sorry for all the questions...." buy your kobra from tantal at link above (provided by 3-7). he's the BEST source for all russian optics. i highly recommend him. |

The Sam 7 C (carbine) comes without a muzzle break! www.arsenalinc.com/sam7carbine.html |
| I just recently picked one up. It is a little heavier than some, but that's about the only drawback I can see. Shoots great, is pretty darn accurate, and is very well built. Gonna have to agree with Campy and say there's not many on gunbroker because people aren't wanting to give them up. One thing I like is it's a little longer which makes it more comfortable for my long ass arms to shoot. |

Thanks to all of you for all the help. I looked at the CQB site before, I can't believe I overlooked the sling. I mean I saw that one as pictured, but not the one for the slings loops. What's the wieght difference of the milled vs. stamped? I don't imagine all that much. I think this'll be the best route to take as far as a first ak goes, the arsenal ak that is. Later on I want to do a Rommy SAR-2 to akm-74 project, hell maybe even start from scratch with an OOK reciever. I feel that would be to much to jump into considering my lack of any first hand ak knowledge. And besides, maybe the ban will die peacefully by then and I'll actually be able to make a real akm-74 /w folder. |

Forgot my 2 cents on the brake. Definately not the prettiest to look at it, just like feet, but also like feet, it serves it purpose well. (sarcasm on)Plus, if you look at my flub thread, you can see you can shoot 1&1/2" groups at 300 meters(sarcasm off). In all seriousness I think it's a good rifle and will serve you well for years. |
