I was hoping someone could help me figure out what I did wrong or what went wrong. I installed a G2 single hook trigger set by following a guide on AK47.net. Never did one before but I took my time and everything looked fine when I was done. When I charge the gun by hand and pull the trigger the hammer drops every time. The problem is when I went to the range yesterday. I put a loaded mag in and pull the charging handle back and let her slam forword, pull the trigger and bang. I go to fire another round and nothing. It ejected the fired case and loaded the next round but didn't cock the hammer. If I pull back the handle and eject the round by hand and load the next round it goes bang once and same thing thing happens. If I manually keep pulling the charging handle back it works fine every time. Anyone know whats up ? I'm clueless. Any help would be greatly appreciated... |
| Sounds like your disconnetor isn't grabbing the hammer when you fire and have the trigger pulled and the sear is when you rack it back yourself with the trigger not pulled....I dunno could be the hole placement of the hammer hole in your receiver if it is aftermarket, the disconnector edge could be sitting too low. Take the top cover and bolt carrier out and see what happens when you pull the hammer back with your finger. The disconnector should catch it an then let go and the sear should grab it. |
I never had this happen and because it's a new FCG I'm going with TheRedHorseman on this one ... 1Gunner is right also, pull the carrier and push down the hammer. The flat on the hammer wings should be facing forward so when it's depressed the disconnector can grab it ... |

Hi Guys I checked and the hammer is in the right way. I noticed when I pull the trigger and the hammer drops if I keep my finger pressure on the trigger while I'm re cocking and then go to pull the trigger again nothing happens. I then discovered if I push up lightly on the front end of the trigger base sticking out the bottom of the receiver the hammer snaps into position and I can release it by pulling the trigger. Everything looks like it is in right, but obviously something isn't right. |

1Gunner Do I file all across the bottom even over where the spring goes in ? Why does it work right if you charge it with your finger off the trigger, but not when you are pressing the trigger ? thanks for your help ! I wish I could find a picture of the filing, I hope I don't mess this up..LOL |

no but you are talking about the right piece file the flat surface of the hook that engages the hammer if you have the trigger pulled and pull back the hammer with the disconnector in you will have to take it out since the surface is upside down just file it ever so lightly, just enough to remove enough material to trip the hammer to engage the sear without having to bump up on the trigger guard once you let go of the trigger with the hammer cocked the disconnector holds the hammer when the trigger is still pulled as to not cause a dangerous out of battery and/or full auto, one you let go of the trigger the disconnector releases the hammer allowing the sear to hold it, the sear then releases when you pull the trigger to fire again |
| Hey 1Gunner do I feel like a dumb a##. I was going to put in the old century fc parts and try them before I did any filing to the G2 disconnector to make sure I didn't install something wrong. I put the old parts in the plastic bag the Tapco stuff came in. As i'm pulling the stuff out I see a little round metal sleeve in the bag i missed when I put the G2 in. I installed it and problem gone. I guess it helps to read the directions !...LOL |
