Are these any good? Looks like a bulgy parts kit plus american add ons too, is that correct? I dont see much about them anywhere online, any info would help.

Romanian parts. American reciever and American non-chromed barrel. It should be a good beater gun. Its got nipples... I mean dimples.

I bought one thinking I was getting a WASR. Its been pretty good, not terribly accurate but that may be my fault. It hasn't really given me any troubles, and if the price is right I'd say go for it.

Well I passed on the 1975 and found a Bulgarian Milled SA-93 by Arsenal at a pawn shop!

My little GP1975

I have yet to have any issues with it.

Other than the stock set it came with was crap and the sights were a little off.

Very cool.

I went the other way quite a while back, long before those kits were imported, and used an old Romanian SAR-1 to give the GP1975 look a'la Iraqi service rifle:
