Eventually I'll be picking up a Golani/Galil, and after the appropriate form, turn it into an SBR with this kit: http://akpartskits.com/cart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7_19&products_id=410
My question is, will YHM's Phantom 5.56mm flash hider for use with their QD sound suppressor, fit on the barrel? Or will I have to get some threading done? Also, if anyone's used this kit, do you know what the barrel twist is? Thanks in advance

If you want a micro then have one built.
The big problem you'll have is fitting the handguard to the rec. The micro front trunnion is round on the bottom- the AR/ARM is square. The blackie barrels are 1-7 twist US non chrome lined. i've only seen 4-5 of their kits and they were all standard Galil 13x1.0 threads. If you plan on running a silencer i'd send the barrel to YHM and let them true it up anyway. Good Luck. |

The kits are scarce so i'd get the kit first.
ORF has the rec.s still in stock. Blackthorne has the right side kit but has the wrong topcover, missing stock hardware, non chrome lined barrel. and US gas block. $900+45 for a feedramp. Clyde armory has the left side kit complete except the rec. but be warned- $12 or 1400. but you get a complete kit and if you're lucky the spring loaded trap door for the bolt carrier. Have the rec. checked out before you submit the tax form just in case you get a dud. Good luck! |
