[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Gas Block Change-out?

I would like to change out the gas block on my AK.The rifle is a Century Arms Romanian and has the standard block that i would like to change to a bulgarian style thet has the front sight incorperated into it. I'm building the rifle as a pack rifle and I see that type of sight as lass likely to snag on rigging .Is it possible ?

Some of the Rommy barrels have different dimensions than the Bulgarians, particularly where the gas block and front sight mount.

Might be easier to get the entire AK103 style barrel from K-Var.
