I have 2 Yugoslavian M70 kits.  One is a stamped underfolder and the other a milled fixed stock version.  While comparing the different parts in each kit I noticed that the milled kit's gas tube had three small holes on either side of the front of the tube and the undefolder did not.  Can anyone tell me why?

Typically the milled AK has an AK-47 type gas system which it vents gas out the holes in the gas tube.  The AKM type of gas system got rid of the holes in the gas tube in favor of the holes in the gas block, 2 on each side.  Check your gas block and see if they are both the same AKM type or if one is AKM without the holes in the gas tube and the other with no holes in the gas block and holes in the gas tube.  The Hungarians somtimes used early gas tubes with holes in conjunction with the AKM gas block with holes.  Maybe this was to use up old AK-47 parts on their AKMs.  My .02 cents worth.
