Well looks like those ignorant little fucktards have banned Alex Robinson I assume do to the recent discussion about his XCR on the VEPR forum there. So me thinks Alex needs to move on over to here and have a RobArm forum and if he's going to pay any one for the space it should be those who deserve it and not those 1st amendment hating commie-nazi's at dorknutz.

I just read that thread.  I guess Robinson Arms wouldnt give those goons any $$ so they banned him.  Robarms is a great company IMO.

RobArms should come over here and send a XCR to KevinB, New-AR-Guy or Zack to test out. It would be good for their business.

Guys:

Thanks for inviting me over here.   Let me make it clear to everyone.  I was asked not to post on www.ak-47.net unless I sponsored them.   This was not an unreasonable request.  However, the way they asked was extremely unprofessional and upsetting.   I bear no ill will to the owners of that site but do not feel welcome there.

I have decided to advertise on www.ar15.com and am only waiting to get some more recent pics and info . finished.  These will be done in one to two weeks.  I will probably advertise on www.ak-47.com also but I will do it when I'm ready.

You all see from my posts that I don't come just to try to get you to buy my stuff.  I do come with a selfish motive which is to be informed and to build you guys the stuff of your dreams.  Our goal this year is to build exactly what you want us to build.    We're designing a whole bunch of new AK stuff.  When I get it further along, I'll share it with you guys first.

I greatly appreciate your support and will answer any questions you have.   We are trying to get a cost effective solution for the VEPR .308 high capacity rifle going.   Right now I have to use M14 magazines.   They are coming down in price.   The retail price of the rilfe is about $749.99 with such a modification.  What do you guys think?

As a general rule, there is no problem here with 'unpaid' posts to gain traction as a vendor. Our test drives are free A huge point with the XCR thread is that the regular members were asking you for more information and you were therefore serving them with your posts.

Given the price of current Taiwan M14 mags, $750 makes the VEPR finally a good FAL alternative if the mag changes are smooth.

Now if you can just find a nice hicap use for all this good and cheap 54r...

Welcome Mr. Robinson. You may want to reconsider EVER advertising on D. Thornton's board under any circumstances - believe me, his members will come here and to akfiles and gunco fo the info.

Now to get the ball rolling again...

Have you made a determination which length barrell is optimal for 6.8mm?

Also, have you tested the Black Hills 77gr 5.56mm vs 55 and 62 gr?

Thanks for offering interesting products to American civilians.

Thank you for the warm welcome.  I would have posted earlier but the Shot Show preparation took a lot of time.

I'll try to answer any questions you have.  Someone asked about the VEPR side folding stock and a folding collapsible stock.

I'm still working on the VEPR folding stock.   We finished another set just before the show. I didn't like it.
I liked an earlier version better.   The good thing is that they are stiff  and we'll offer them in three lengths based on lengths of pull from a VEPR.

The same design is going on the XCR also, so I'm making sure it is right.  We're also working on a folding collapsible stock.   Any joker can add an M4 stock to anything.  I have one too.  It should be on the website tonight.   It actually feels great and does not require any modification of the VEPR.   I'd love input on it.  We can have those available quickly.

Our VEPRs ar e almost hear so we'll have almost all models in stock.   With the .308s coming in, we'll probably be doing the M14 20 round conversions to the rifles.  The price will be about $749.99 retail.

Someone also asked about the black hills ammo.   I've been shooting the Mk 262 77 gr. ammo for a few months now in the XCR.   It is some of the most consistent ammo I've shot in a 5.56.   I've been getting 1 to 1.5" five shot groups at 110 yards.   The groupings don't change even when the weapon is hot.    This was with an ACOG the cross hairs which were larger than the bullseye.  With an 8X I the rifle would have easily done 3/4 or 1/2 MOA.

I am waiting on more 6.8.  When I bought the 6.8 the first time, they told me it was for cyclic testing only.  I.e, something was screwed up and it didn't shoot worth a darn.  However, I should have some more coming this month.  When I get it, I'll let you see how it does.

How does one post pictures on these forums anyway?

Thanks Alex. How is the .308 XCR coming? I would imagine it's on hold until the 5.56 is in production.

It's real tough getting any new product into production, especially rifles.   We will definitely make a XCR-M in .308 ("M" stands for Medium).    Once we're shipping 5.56 NATO XCR-Ls, we'll start finalizing the XCR-M .308.

It will have a high parts compatability with the XCR-L.

Sounds great Alex, and welcome to the board.

You'll need a photo host, if you have a hosting set up on your server.

There is also an icom marked "board code" right above the submit button when you're posting something.

If you don't have a place that hosts your photos online, you can get a free account at

www.photobucket.com

I'll post a picture, you can right click on it and select "properties", that should show you the url of the picture, where it was hosted.

Hope that helps.

Oh, by the way, will the 7.62x51mm XCR take HK G3 magazines?

Thanks!

Alex, how hard would it be to make a folding stock for a stamped or milled AK other than a VEPR?
Something like this

or this

I would prefer it be around the standard AK length when fully extended.
