Hey guys, I have a Gordontech SLR100H, a classic AK47 type for those who don`t know. Beautiful gun. Anyhow I sighted her in at 25, then 50 yards, a solid shooter especially for an AK. I then went to 100 yards, I was impressed, almost out performing some of my AR`s.

But then I went to 200 yards.... I was barely on paper. What gives? Why was it so hot at 100, yet I couldn`t get it on pper to save my life?

did you adjust the rear site? Another thing to remember about the 7.62x39 round is that it has a pretty impressive arc to it's flight path, akin to lobbing artillery. I kid about the artillery thing, but check out some ballistic charts. It's been awhile since I have shot 7.62x39, so I can't recall off the top of my head when things start getting goofy.

Were you using the graduated sight ladder at the 2 setting? What was your original zero distance? 7.62x39 is good out to about 300m, and then it tanks pretty hard, so 200 should be no problem. Also, were you shooting freehand or a bench and sled? Could be the shooter!

It was on a sandbag on the shooting bench. I originally sight my rifles at 25 yards, then 50, 100 and lastly 200. The sight was set at 100 when I sighted it in. And I did move it to 200 for the 200 yard range.

Just set your sight ladder on "battle-zero" and zero your sight at 25 yds.  This should be good for anything between 25 to 200 yds.  See chart below.

Just set your sight ladder accordingly....
