Have a Poly-tech Legend,milled reciever. Recieved from a friend years ago 1990? or so for $300.00. I believe he or whoever had it previously, had it modified to a underfolder, appears to be a chinese UF stock as it also came with a second stock new in bag. Gun is Great and functions Flawlessly. Question is ,it seems that whomever did the UF mod. used a plate with 4 hex scews to attach it to the reciever in the rear where the wooden stock attached. After seeing pics of various under folders here, not sure if i like the plate on the rear for cosmetic reasons and would like a thinner plate permenently attached. I assume it would be welded on? Any one know of a gunsmith in NY, who can do this reasonably? Something I can do myself, to fix it? Or should i just leave it be?

And my gut says take off the plate on back to check hom the rear trunion area was modded before deciding on the next step.
