I picked up a case of old 7.62x39  from my dealer. He got a bunch of different ammo from an estate sale. The ammo is a copper washed case with a steel core bullet. The headstamp is N over 60. I think its Chinese as it was on striper clips and the clips were loose in the crate that had Chinese wrighting on it. I counted 129 clips in the crate. I bought all he had for a C note.Is this ammo Chinese? I hope this is good blasting ammo. I also got about 700 rds of brass cased Czech 7.62x39 ammo dated 77 .  He is now out of  7.62x39. I hope he finds another deal like this soon.

What you have is some Soviet ammo, dated in the 1950's or so (N), at factory 60 from what I can remember.  For some reason they coded ammo like this for a few yrs, then switched to a regular factory code which is numbered like the yr.  Hope this helps...Tommy.

The ammo isn't Chinese as all Chinese 7.62x39mm ammo has a headstamp with the factory number on top with the two diget year of mfg on the bottom.
