I apolagize if this sounds stupid, but I can't figure out how to strip my SLR 101.  I know that all you have to do is push the button on the back and pop off the dust cover.  But on this rifle the button won't go in.  It looks to me like the button is too big to be pushed in.  Does anyone know anything about this?  Am I stupid?
I really want to get it off because my parents basement flooded and I found my rifle laying in a puddle of water.  I've tried to remove the surface rust as best as I could, but I really want to make sure there's not any more in there.  I know its an AK and will operate fine; I just don't want to end up with a rusty rifle.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

If it is like the other AK74 style Bulgy recoil springs that has an extra lip on the dust cover catch you just push it in so far then lift the dust cover then push it the rest of the way.
