Hope this is in the right section.
I personally don't have any interest in a chrome AK nor do I know much of anything about AK's. I have been charged with the task of tracking down a chrome AK for a client and have had no luck with google/bing etc. Anybody know where I might find on? Thanks in advance |

I think Classic Arms at one point sold them, so you might want to check there. Otherwise, I think your SOL other than having one chromed yourself. They aren't in all that high of demand. +1. I don't know who is selling them. Send an email to Classic Arms and see if they'll give you contact info for the person who did their chromed AK's. |

Another option is to buy an AK rifle and send it to a firearms gun refinishing and plating service and have it plated in bright chrome or bright nickel.
Companies like APW/Cogan, Ford's and Tech Plate Inc can do work like this. There were also a few commemorative, limited issue AK rifles sold by Arsenal Inc and Ka-Var that were bright plated. |

Maybe that client would be more interested in a "Cartel Edition" gold plated AK47 He wouldn't happen to be Mexican? http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/bilde6564.jpg Maybe a gaudy gold and silver Colt .45 1911 to go along with the AK http://www.tactical-life.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/gold-plated-colt-super-38-automatic.jpg Sweet front sight post |

Classic Arms used to sell them, but IIRC the gunsmith that they used to have do it died or retired or something, and they can't get it done anymore.
My suggestion would be sending your own AK to Checkmate: Checkmate Custom Gun Refinishing 290 Champion Drive Brooksville, FL, 34601 Phone: (352) 799-2986 [no warranty on my info expressed or implied] |

Plate your own homie. <a href="http://s1138.photobucket.com/user/dirt28/media/IMG_4570_zps1c26931f.jpeg.html" target="_blank">http://i1138.photobucket.com/albums/n540/dirt28/IMG_4570_zps1c26931f.jpeg</a> Yep! Do you have any pics of it assembled? |

No, it belongs to one of my uncles who I got into building. That was a matching number Polish kit with one of Curtis' side folder kits.
If I recall, he paid a shop $200 to do it. That included the prep labor. It probably would have been cheaper if he hadn't painted everything prior.
