Hi everyone,  I have a Arsenal SLR 106 and I can't get the thread protector off. I have done some research and using a dremel cut the tack weld the best I could. Tried to heat it, still won't budge. What do I do next ? I'd like to install a muzzle brake on it.

I'd buy some penetrating oil and let it soak into the threads over night and then try it again.

I did try that before heating the tread protector, but it won't hurt to do it again.. I just don't want to damage anything.

perhaps a pic? I'm assuming you have a 24mm thread protector on there, but do not understand why it was tack welded...

You should just have to push the detent pin down and unscrew the muzzle nut.Make sure you hold the pin down and turn the nut the correct direction
Dont cut anything yet

an SLR106 has 24mm right hand threads. I have no idea why a thread protector is on one though and tac welded. We will know for sure when we see pics.
