Guys,

I just bought a new Saiga and converted it. I'm trying to sight the darn thing in, but the problem is that it's about 2-3" POI left of where I'm aiming. at 25m

The drum is centered from the factory and I'm assuming I need to move it left.  I don't have the tool to do it. Will a hammer/punch suffice?

Another question, should I be worried? I can't imagine that  the post is going to be anywhere even NEAR center by the time I'm done making adjustments

My polytech is almost all the way to one side.. the tool is cheap. I got mine on ebay. I think a rear windage adjustable sight would be nice.

It's a matter of proirities. Is it more important to you that the rifle to shoots to POA or that the post be centered in the ears?

The front sight post in Saigas is quite often canted, which may be the root cause for the need to adjust the blade. Using a brass punch won't hurt the rifle, but it is more of a trial an error method and I suggest that you buy or build a correct tool.

Get a front sight tool.
You can use a punch and drift the drum but it's a lot of back and forth nonsense.
