How do I remove the AK factory scope rail? Does it have to be drilled or is there a trick?

It's not easy. You have to drill the rivets out and you will end up with an extra hole in the receiver. One of the rivets will have to be replaced because it is in the rear trunnion. The scope rail is not intended to be removed. You are better off just leaving it on or selling the rifle and buying one without a scope rail.

Probably not what you wanted to hear.

Well, I just think they look alot better without them. I doubt I would ever put a scope on a AK. I didnt know it was part of the trunnion. All AK's in this neck of the woods come with the rail. Not to big of a selection to choose from. thanks for the info
