Norinco. Softpoint.
Factory #351, manufactured in 1992. Factories 31,71,311 and 351(also possibly 61) made non-steel core ammo. Lead cored ball from factory 31 ALWAYS has a green case mouth seal. Lead cored ball from factory 71 ALWAYS has a knurled crimping groove on the projectile. Lead cored ball from factories 311 and 351 is harder to tell, but generally the rounds have NO case mouth seal or primer seal and date from 1991-1994. The earliest known lead core from factory 31 is 1990 dated. The earliest known lead core from factory 71 is 1988 dated. Most of that stuff is commercial manufacture and sold in the U.S. as "China Sports" in various colored and designed boxes. |

Non-corrosive. 1994
Some 1995 dated Chinese ammo made it in to the US before the ban took effect at the end of 1994. Some ammunition manufacturers begin using the next year's digits at the end of the current year. I have some Bulgarian 5.45 loaded in 1988 but have a 1989 headstamp... 1DD |

Ditto. Shot some of this stuff back in the day when I lived near Houston. No rust issues compared to the mil.spec Chinese ball I shot around the same time. The humidity was so bad during the summers there that I got rust even after a good cleaning, stored indoors with the AC running 24/7...
