I have a WASR-3 with a fixed wood stock.  AFAIK it has a standard rear trunnion.  IMHO wood stocks look good on 7.62 but not on 5.45 or 5.56. So I'm considering replacing it with a Bulgarian triangle folder.

Will the two holes already in the receiver match up with ones needed for the triangle folder? So that all I need to do is cut new holes?

Or will replacing the stock requiring filling in the old holes and drilling all new ones?

If it's the latter I'll put a K-Var poly stock set on instead.

I don't believe the trunion holes will line up. There is a template on Pookie's website for you to compare. The rear of the receiver will also need to be angled with one side cut shorter than the other. I would use a Romanian or E. German sidefolder with your existing rear trunion rather than a fixed K-var stock.

The holes don't line up.  You will have to do a lot of cutting to fit the rear stock and The front latch Is a bear when it has a hole in the trunion, I hate to think about having to do one where the hole is not already drilled.

A side folder (East German or Romy) would be a lot less effort and expense, They are "right" for several AK 74 builds.

Just finished cutting in a triangle stock trunnion in a Tapco flat. The holes will not line up. .  K-var has a triangle folder that fits a standard fixed stock receiver, and it will allow you return the weapon to its orgional configuration.
