Hello,
I currently have a set of black polymer hand gaurds and have decided to move in a different direction with some classic Bulgarian bakelite. My question is, how do I remove the gas tube from the upper hand guard? Is it even possible? I've seen some videos of people doing it on youtube, but they are doing in on wooden hand guards and they look to be a little different than what I have. It doesn't seem like twisting it out will work, i'm thinking I need to hammer down the bracket closest to the muzzle side of the tube... I just don't know. Any advice? |

process is the same as a wooden one. I put the gas tube in my vise and then twist them on and off. Some are tougher than others. I've used a rubber oil filter wrench in the past for a really tough one. Where are you in TX? All else fails, you could bring it by my place. I'm in Austin. |
