I just bought a WASR-2. First I had to grind down the rear corners of the mag well so it would fit the bulgarian mag that came with it as well as about 10 other mags that I have. I also had to shave some steel from the rivet in the reciever that the back of the mag rests against as it is locked into the gun. I am wondering if this gun was originally a single stack rifle and had the mag well opened up. I took it to the range today, the mags go in and out very smooth now but the first few mags the bolt was only stripping off every other round. After about 10 minutes, it began to fire very well. The Tapco trigger is sweet and the recoil of the 5.45 is pleasant. The gun seems like it will be pretty accurate so far. |

Not uncommon. Is it a CAI rifle?...not the best QC, but still great guns. The recivers are new and if the person fitting the rifle dosent take the time to do it, you may have to open the magwell a bit (they are always a bit tight). Break it in, it will be fine I'll bet. |
| Don't worry, I had to gring my mag release/retainer flat, as it was stamped crooked, so no mags would lock in. THen I had to dig into teh trunnion a little bit so the brown Bulgy? mags would fit, as they have a smaller "hook" on their front than the Black Bulgarians. |
