I am not banned not yet anyway, and welcome to the site

but like everyone else I am getting tired of novice builders asking the same old questions easily found in the old threads, also calling me a liar as recently happen on the build your own-AK-47 board, after years of following the informer and campy. I am tired of people running threads asking about rivets when that stuff was covered years ago and I mean years ago. pure laziness
I specifically recommended to you and the followers on the mysterious rivet thread, to try the screw method. but I got nothing but rude comments.
I am a former armourer, and a home builder for years, I do not like being called a liar by novices. and when it starts here I will move on to another site with the like minded, or stop commenting

jacksprat, I understand where you are coming from. I have been on the FAL board for almost 8 years now. And ya know what? New guys still ask the same questions over and over again. Year after year. I gave back for a while but now leave those questions to those who enjoy responding to them. No sweat and everyones happy.

Regarding rivets, Well I for one can tell you that rivet and barreling information was few and far between on that board. Trust me..I did a great deal of research. The Thread "The Mysterious Rivet" was started by "me" and it has created a sort of repository for that information. I hope it helps people as it has helped me.

I dont know who called you a liar but I think the screw method is a clever idea. Its not my personal pref. but I still think its a neat idea and lots of others seem to agree.

Im sorry you got rude comments and im especially sorry if any came from me. Please forgive. :-)

I  guess Im one of the new guys that ask questions about how to do anything. You have to figure, there new people that step into the gun field everyday. There same old questions that they ask that are old to many are new to them.Im not new to firearms in the least .My knowledge( what little I can retain, he he ) is in U.S. Military rifles.1903's, M14's M16's .Im just learning the AK.I know the post wasn't aimed at me personally, but if not for  new guys the sport would die.Got to have fresh blood rotating in.Thanks for all that have answered my dumb questions. a friend od mine is a mod on ak-47net. he told me the other day that he is tired of answering newbie questions.

i responded that the newbie deserves the best and most complete answers he ca get. the novice needs his info far more than the anal retentive kalshniphycho that just has to have a mint ak-74"g" style brake to complete his 39th build job.

no question is to 'old' or well hashed out.

new info is constantly becoming available. so i say...have at it.

whether you prefer rivets or screws, kobra's or pso's...all comers are welcome to share their thoughts.

i still like ak-47net, despite the couple of douche bags that run the show. there are plenty of good folks over there and i'm proud to call many of them my friends...both on the net and in real life.

campy

you missed my point, I am saying that most of these folks want a instant answer. this site and AK-47 has all the old threads, that will answer their questions

ex.  should I build, should I buy from so and so, rivets or screws,is it legal.

again this pure laziness on the questioners part
a ex. of a good question/comment was made this very week by railhead we need more people like him
I had a person on this site who emailed me numerous times for the quick way around building as I have built several. I got so tired of telling him to go to the old threads I looked them up and downloaded them to him (holding his hand) I didn't even get a thank you or kiss my axx.
additionally if one is not mechanically inclined or partially trained they should buy of the self

I will help any one who truly needs help and as you can tell by my post Screwed!!!!!!!!! I even have questions and need to refer to others. oh by the way bending the end of the top cover, did the trick

rambled enough today
