Worth the money?
I've got a Para model with THE WORST TRIGGER EVER!!!!!!! I have to think anything is better than what I have, but is the Kivaari job what I want? AIRBORNE!!!!! |
| I think they're great, and I'm very happy with mine, but the usefulness of such a trigger in an SKS depends on what you're doing with it. I put a Kivaari trigger in an SKS I was attempting to accurize way back in the day when such a thing sounded like a good idea, and the trigger is about as good as it gets for a surplus rifle. It definitely shrunk the groups of my "accurized" Norinco, but I eventually dropped the trigger in my Para, with which I took a black bear the following year. |

Yes, if he asks if you want the Wolff Springs I would say no... But as far as the craftsmanship of his work, no one holds a stick to Tom...... |

Too many light hammer strikes. |

How common are the light trigger strikes? Doesn't sound like what I signed up for. His website claims the Wolf Springs are the way to go. AIRBORNE!!!!! Doesn't mean it is what you have to do, just ask him to use the original springs.... Plus he stands behind his work, so if they do not work out for you then send it back and he will replace the springs with the originals... |

Several light strikes after that. I'm not happy. My bone stock Russian trigger group has just as good of a trigger pull and ALWAYS goes bang. Guess I'll be sending it back. AIRBORNE!!!!! |

After an email to Tom aka KIVAARI and his response, I swapped out the Wolf spring for the factory one. Works just fine now. It started out as the WORST TRIGGER IN THE WORLD and is now a whole lot better. You can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear, but this is definately an improvement. Kudos to Tom aka KIVAARI
AIRBORNE!!!!! |
| a friend of mine had the kivari trigger job done to his sks. w/ my paratrooper, it felt like you were pulling the trigger through gravel and the pull was inconsistent - it was gravelly for the first 1/2 of the pull and got smooth towards the end of the pull. in comparing the kivari to my paratrooper, it was much smoother and consistent. it was still a long, stiff, pull. the smoother more consistent pull added a lot to accuracy. it definitely is no AR 3.5 lbs trigger. |
