| I pick up one of Krebs pin retainer plates when I ordered some mags from midway. The new Guns&Ammo complete book of the AK47 says I quote "Get One" Do you all have one, was it worth it? |

Lots of people swear by retainer plates. I don't need a plate because I disassemble the fcg the way it was designed to be done, so the wire retainer doesn't give me problems.
If you can get the safety in last and the if plate prevents the hammer and trigger pins from rotating in the receiver, the plate will serve to hold the pins in. Make sure to check the "legs" of the hammer/trigger spring after replacing the safety. Often the tab will force the right "leg" off the trigger. If that happens, the trigger may not return all the way to the forward position. |
| I like them. Easier to manage than almost all the wires, but serves the same purpose. TAPCO is making one also that is much thinner than the Krebs. The TAPCO has a nice fold over angle on top to make it easier for removal. DO NOT buy that one if you have a scope rail installed. It has to sit flush with the side and the rivets from the rail will hold it out and the angle will interfere with the hammer. The Krebs does not have this issue as its just flat. |
