[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Laser

I was thinking of installing a laser on my SAR-1, but I noticed that none of you have them. I was wondering why none of you have them. Is there some legallity or just something about lasers that I don't know.

You're right, with all the modifications and addons I have not read about lasers.
I don't have one. Maybe everybody is too sneaky here, can't bear to give their position away before they shoot.

My guess is a combination of things. Lasers are fine for non-shouldered pistols and very fast close quarter fights. With the longer range of rifle combat, shouldered fire is more accurate, and $140 Kobras work great so why try a more likely to be fragile/expensive laser projection set up.
Nothing at all against the laser idea, I just see darned little reason to be unhappy with a Kobra for most shooting.
