I had the chance to purchase a Sniper Handle safety for my AK-47 Tactical Model and didn't show how to install it on the site so now when I got one for my AK-74 I thought Ill post it for all to see.I was suprised when I ordered this on Friday it was on my doorstep Monday and installed it now when I got home if you look at the right hand side you see I use a drill press to drill my holes.

Below are the Pics of the installation frist it comes with a duckbill looking safety handle and the slots for installing it on to your safety. You must re-drill your safety hole so make sure you want to install this since it does alter your reciever.

Second strip your AK down to the basic parts as shown after making sure you have it unloaded and safe.

Thrid Drill out to the size needed I like to use a step drill since it stays centered and also its easier to take it our and test for the right size and also these drill bits dont need to be chased after with a deburring tool.

Fourth Also drill out your pin retaining plate if you have one I know he sends the E-Clips in the kit but I like the spring metal retainers so I drill it out to the same size

Fifth sand or dremmel the sides of the safety lever of your AK to fit snug inside of the new left safety lever

Sixth Install the safety and rertaining plate while making sure you lock down your pins and then slide it into the new holes in the reciever and the safety retaining plate and then hold the safety plate foward so to install the larger E-Clip that holds the new left handed safety inplace on the reciever and let the pin retaining plate spring back towards the reciever, Caution make sure your pins and plate are locked in place....

Check the operation and make sure everything clears the safety.. On my AMD I had to grind down the head of a rivet to clear the safety

Seventh put your gun together and go out and enjoy

Hope this helps someone.. The handle is 60 bucks on the web on Sniper Handles site well worth it if your right handed and you can see I have a modified selector lever and mag release amoung other things on the Tactical build... The traditional builds stay bone stock...What I like is you can use your thumb to keep pressure on the bolt when its locked back in the open position to install a new mag and simply relase with your thumb or pull down with your trigger finger on the modified tab and shoot again...

That's pretty cool!  Not exactly sure how it is a left-hand safety though.  It looks like the selector used on Tantals.  Still cool!

That works.  Being left handed I can honestly say I'm convinced most guns favor us.  Granted we have to do virtually everything different but I can have my hand on the pistol grip and ready to go when I operate the selector or bolt.  Front Sight instructors hated how easily and quickly I could operate my Taurus PT92 they kept checking to make sure my pistol was functioning properly because I could release the slide at the same time as inserting a new mag all while still pointing down range.  And the mag release is effortlessly activated making them think my gun was dropping mags because it is so simple for a left handed person.  I like your idea but prefer just adding a Galil and Tantal to the family rather than going at anyone of my various builds with a dremel/drill.  Again, very cool!
