I'll keep this simple. How come I can't buy a AMD-65(or any other parts kit for that matter) kit send it away to like Krebs, have them make me a reciever and put it all together? Since thats illegal, can someone go over the proper procedure of having a firearm built? I would appreciate it. |

krebs, holding a class 07 ffl and an sot CAN manufacture a receiver for you. you could not afford to pay for it unless he manufactured a bunch of them, though...something he's not about to go into (unless someone knows something about marc that i don't!). you CAN legally send your parts of to an outfit like orf and they will supply you with a receiver and build your firearm for. they would then have to ship it to a local ffl, since you were not in possession of the receiver prior to sending the parts to them. inrange will build your rifle, but you will have to buy your own receiver and send it to troy. he'll gladly assemble it and mail the rifle back directly to you. no one, other than hesse/vulcan, itm/oow and globaltrades are currently 'making' stamped receivers. only the firingline and arsenal inc. and orf are currently making milled receivers. orf and the firingline will both build your correct milled parts sets onto their receivers for a fee (ak-47 for the firingline and galil for orf). |
