I need a triangular folder and related parts (rear trunion, push button assembly, front catch, pin, and spring.
Anyone know who might have thease in stock? Any help would be great! |

I've been thinking about buying a kit and I wouldn't need the stock. What would a fair price for the triangle stock + folding mechanism? That would help me recoup some of the costs. I would guess around $150.00 The K-Var stocks are for regular stamped receivers with a tang. The block sticks out from the receiver. |
|
ORF lists them on their website, $175.

I'd guess the parts are the same...maybe??? I've never seen one personally though. |

Thats what happens when you post links like that on an open forum. Thanks a lot Faldoc.

| Anyone know where I can get just the trunnion? I know Kvar had them, but of course they're sold out. I purchased a side folder (triangular stock) kit years ago and the trunnion was missing. Florida Gun Works seems to have the stock and trunnion in stock but I've heard some negative things about them. Any comments? |

I think i may one from a bulgy krink kit that i build up with a fixed stock. It would have all the peices needed, stock, trunnion, latch, pins, springs ext. Wont be home for a week as im finishing up college right now but as soon as break starts i can check and let ya know.

Are you referring to this one? http://www.dsarms.com/Bulgarian-AKS-74-Folding-Stock-Assembly/productinfo/AKBFS/ Is that the one designed for the fixed stock receivers? |

| I have one of these for my SLR 105. It's very well made and the small added length of the block is not that noticable. I've found it to be much more comfortable than the black plastic stick stock that it came with. For those that have the stamped receivers with tang and do not wish to have the exspensive modification, it's probably the best folding stock on the market. Not to mention it's Bulgarian. OAL open and installed is only 11". The block is just under 2". Locktite is also recommended for the two attachment screws. |
| The mechanism is different, looks like the catch is longer, comes out the right side, and works by catching the folder near the hinge in an up and down fashion, the trunion is different. The folder stock and hinge pin might be useable. You would have to find additional pieces. |

I'd like to post a copy of an IM between Faldoc and myself about posting info on a public forum and how that info getting out in the WIDE open could keep some of you all here from gtting the part you need to finish your rifle before the new political regime begins. You can see my IM back to his earlier note and then his response...you can see what he thinks about folks here...I was just trying to point out that we should take care of our own first. You can see his thoughts. I did respond to this message even though he didnt want me too. My response? "Fuck Off." B Faldoc: I suspect they sold to folks who were looking for one. $175 is a lot to spend to hoard. Last I heard they sold out, anyway. There is another source I have not posted, and people who really want one will google and search it just like I did, and buy it at $230. At some point they will have them again at Kvar. It's just a matter of time. I also posted on HKpro a good deal on HK94 carbines, a more than $500 savings for my fellow HKpro lurkers I did not post here on AR15.com. I find things all the time I share with fellow gun owners, and they share with me. So forgive me, if there is a fatwallet effect at ar15.com but that's just the nature of the internet. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Brazos: I responded to the OP with an IM and asked him to keep it to himself unless he wanted to give the info to another forum member who was in a jam also. You post info like that in front of God and everybody, and folks that are just wandering through this sight, and what do you expect will happen? Especially in these times? Its just thoughtless. And yes K-Var may have them again, or they may not... You apparently dont care. Good for you. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Faldoc: How do you know who bought the folders? How do you know how many were there to be bought? Who are you to decide what information I post? Are you a moderator? Why does ORF advertise openly on the internet? Do you think they want YOU to decide who buys how many of what from their store? I gave as I received here. I have bought things based on what I saw posted openly, not secretly IM'd by some busybody who thought I was in a jam. Information here is freely exchanged and I will continue to share it as I see fitting the rules. If you have a problem with that go to the moderators who will tell you to mind your own business and leave the policing to them. Oh, and don't ever IM me again. |
|
Since you have decided to make your rude response public, I am sure the mods will be thrilled that you have violated the rules in the conduct code.
6.) Attacking or insulting a person in an effort to elicit a negative response. You have a right to disagree, but please do so in a respectful manner. |

It sure would be nice if someone in the US would manufacture these. It isn't like they wouldn't sell. Thanks again for the info. |

First, it doesn't bolt, you remove the pin from the bottom up.
Second, you do not need the whole assembly as shown on Copes web site (but you could re-sell what you don't need...AK builders will still want the rear trunion setup) Third, good luck. The only place you will find them is on the secondary market...EE or Gunbroker. I got my last 2 off Broker. Be prep'd to pay at least $125 for it...unless you get real lucky.... |

Some say the Russian sidefolder works with the NDS-2sf receiver and others say it doesn't. You won't know until you get one and see if the rear trunion fits the receiver and the stock is at the right angle, and if the holes line up.
