I'm in the market to pick up an AK-47, the requirements for the selected specimen are: 7.62x39mm caliber, wood furniture, double stack magazine well, and separated pistol grip and buttstock.

I'm considering a Romanian made model due to the affordability, ideally the SAR1 based on reviews about it having the highest quality of the Romans. If I can't find one and instead decide to go with a WASR-10, I need to know what to look for in determining if it's worth the buy or not.

Besides the canted sights and gas block, what exactly can I look for on a WASR to determine it's level of quality and if it's worth buying or passing up? And how in depth can you get when you're examining it before you buy it?

Check the magwell for slop.. try inserting a few different mags into it to make sure they don't flop around. Mags should be fairly tight with not alot of side to side movement.
