I may have an opportunity to pick one up (wi barrel) .  So far :  sight unseen.  What would these have gone for pre Dec 2012?

Slab side M70 underfolder?  It seems to me that there isn't the demand for them as the bulged trunnion ones. I got a matching kit for $450 during the craze, which I felt was a fair price as I was having trouble finding a slab side kit. Sure, I would've preferred to have paid $350, but I did it backwards and got my reciever first (for a reason, but not worth going into).  Kinda burned since I didn't have the on-hand funds to buy one of the complete rifles aimsurplus had for $550 at the beginning of fall 2012 (they wouldn't do layaway).  Bad timing on buying a minivan...but that's a whole other story.

I think underfolder kits are much more common and go for less.  Is this true?

Tried replying earlier but kept getting errors.

It's kinda difficult to follow the M70 designations, but I'm going to guess this is a M70B1 you're looking at.

Here's a link to a sale last August:  http://www.falfiles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=335515

Looks like it sold for $600 shipped (no receiver), but it also looks like that included a new barrel in addition to the original. So adjust for that, condition of parts and wood and factor in any panic pricing.

Mmmmm.  Too many extras for a fair comparison.  I don't know what barrels or spare stock sets go for.  But THANK YOU so much for the leg work getting this info.

I'm guessing anywhere from 350-400 up.

I paid 325 for my slabside underfolder in mid 2010.  I want to say the fixed stock rifles were something like 50 more.

I used an M92 Krink reviecer from Nodak Spud.  This reciever doesnt really allow the use of the reciever cover lock/button due to lack of material.  It fits so tight that I dont need it, although I dont plan on launching any grenades.

I used an AK builder piston and barrel nut.

Paid Mesa Kinetic to build it.  Came out nice with a battle field pickup look to it.  They installed the FCG, blued the reciever, and built the rifle for 350 dollars.

All together I have about 700 into it.  Expensive, but its what I wanted.

Here is a pic so I can show my new rifle off!

That does look nice.  I saw your other pics on Photobucket.  I just picked up an M70B1 kit ($350).  It's pretty spent looking and may need a little attention besides assembly.  I like the "battlefield pickup" look.  Mine is a bit farther down that road.  Not really trench art but some carvings and initials here and there.  Definitely spent time as someones best friend once upon a time.  I was gonna clean and detail the best I could and refinish all but frankly after seeing yours I think I might just build it as is and have someone do a light or rough relic worn looking blue to the receiver (if that's even possible).  Would kinda do honor to the former soldier to whom it was issued - I think - rather than trying to tacticool or restore it.

Problem is the bore is kinda rough.  Does well on the bullet test and the rifling is pronounced and sharp but it is dark and course in there.  Wish there was a way to share the inside of the bore with others for opinions.  I'd hate to be looking at a new barrel.  Then I really would have to refinish it I think.

M70AB1 is NOT the fixed stock version.  Sounds like it's a miss-matched kit.

Nomenclature corrected in the thread already but thanks for your input.

Matching numbers.
