| Just ordered my M70. I have never owned an AK before this one. Is this a good model to start off with? I like the fact that it is an underfolder for the convenience of easy storage, and the Yugoslavian gun felt better than the Romanian one I was holding when I picked them both up. I have not gotten mine in yet (should be Monday before I see it), but I plan on shooting it that very day. It is a Century build and I paid $500 for it from the Florida Gun Exchange. How'd I do? |

I love mine. Got a underfolder about a year ago when they still had the wood stocks. Got a fixed stock last week. I think they are the best AK out there for the money if you aren't hung up on the lack of chrome lining in the barrels. I gave $499 for the UF a year ago, and $449 for the fixed. Sounds like you did good. Where are you in NC? I am in G'boro. |

Nothing much up here range wise. One indoor range (Calibers) out near the airport. You have Uwharrie down a little southwest of me. I guess it is technically in Troy. I am pretty sure it is still open. Several of the NC people meet there on the weekends. I have always been on call when they are there. Haven't got to go yet. I shoot on my land. All the Yankees moving in call the SD everytime they hear shots. Glad to have a fellow shooter down from NY. |

a little disclosure: I'm not a native NY'er. I moved there because my wife's family is there. I left three years later because I couldn't stand the political environment and BS. Do you know that if my neighbor looked in my window and saw a gun, he could call the police and have me arrested? WOW! I didn't know this, but I didn't want to stick around to prove it. My NY friends that knew I had "a gun" thought I was paranoid or had a Scarface complex. I like it here. As far as the M70 is concerned, it should be here in a few days. Can't wait! |
