No pics of the targets, but it did really good once I got it the front site aligned. Like a lot I have seen, it needed to be pushed far to the left to get it on. Once on, accuracy was pretty good. I did install and pin a muzzle extension and then add an ACE stock with a folding mechanism. Stock held up pretty well, and the slight angle isn't even noticeable. What was noticeable was the concussion and fire ball! Pretty awesome if you ask me!

When I got home I went ahead an knocked the FSB pins out and tapped the FSB over to the left. Inserted the bore site and adjusted to it. I scrolled a mark on the gas tube before adjustment to gauge how far it moved. Seems good now, but another range trip will be needed to fine tune it.

I have been a 5.45x39 fan for so long it was nice to get back behind a heftier round and enjoy the feel of the 7.62x39 again. It's a different experience than the 5.45x39 Bulgarian "krink" SBR I have that's for sure. All in all, I'd give the PAP an 8 out of 10. Excellent little thing once it's been turned into a rifle. Form 1 will be submitted soon.

The only other thing I feel he need to note was the trigger and hammer pins. The seemed "off" to me when I first picked up the pistol. I went ahead an replaced them with some extra Bulgarians ones I have now and it not only looks better, but they feel more secure to me. Anyway, on to the obligatory pics (will get better non-cell camera ones soon):

Interesting.  Please tell me about that stock and barrel extension.

the stock is an ACE, as is the adapter. The barrel extension and the stock came with the pistol when I bought it, so I do not know where the extension came from to be honest. It came in the white, and I painted it with durabake.

I need to clean up the handguard on mine. Did you use tung oil?

the guy I bought it from refinished in just clear shellac. Works pretty good, but shows dirt easy. Cleans off easy though, so no biggie.

ETA:

Was thinking of adding a Bulgy or Russian side rail when I send it in to have the 4.5 side folder installed. Being a PAP, can't do an UF, but don't really want one anyway. Form 1 1st though.

Kinda, slightly envious of you guys with older PAPs who can do side folders. Mine is a newer one with the serno above the "Zastava, Serbia".

I will be adding an UF (which is cool because it's factory correct), but I'm not a huge fan of shooting UF's.

I'm not quite sure yet. Chris Butler or Mario would be my 1st picks. I have rifles from both and am really impressed with their work. Troy would be another, he did my AKS-74U. Will probably come down to who has the quickest turn around time.

How did you attach the adapter to the rear of the rifle?

Can you post a pic with the stock folded?

I drilled 2 holes through the rear trunnion, ran the screws through and used nylon threaded bolts to hold it on the inside of the trunnion. The stock didn't come with any hardware when I bought it, so I had to Home Depo it. Believe it or not, it took me a couple hours b/c I was trying to install it wrong. Once I figured it out it went on in 5 minutes.

I will get pics of it folded tonight. I think I would only fold it for storage though. Unlike the Bulgarian and Russian triangle side folders, it sticks out pretty far.

I contacted Troy last week for a Draco and he said to get with him at the end of summer because he is so busy. No biggie since I just sent my form 1 in

nice, thanks for the update.

I use to have a guy here locally who did one for me for less than $100. Only took him 3 days too. He retired

ok, here's a few more pics of the stock and how I attached it.

here you can see that the inside of the trunnion is rounded in the corners. Makes the bolts angle inward

and another shot of the faux can. you can see my spot weld at the bottom. I laid it on thick because the 1st one popped out after a trip to the range. This one will hold. Don't plan on cleaning it up b/c I will just remove it when the form 1 comes back.

hope that answers the questions. Let me know if you need any other pics.

just got my ultimak today. Bought it off the EE here. Was cut for a Draco, but fits pretty good. Could be 2mm longer, but it hand cycles fine.

Interestingly, charging the rifle is smoother now. I had thought that initial hesitation (or binding) was due to the trigger, but that is no longer present now with the Ultimak installed. I looked at the gas tube, and didn't see any signs of binding. It must have been in the gas block. A combo of the original tube and gas block I guess.

Anyway, I put my old TR-25 on it and dialed it in to the sights. I will need some more range time before I get it right. I had punched the pins out and realigned the FSB a week ago. I took it to the range, but I forgot my sight tool. It was about 1/2" off at 25yrds, so some adjustment will still be necessary.

I also stripped the paint off the barrel extension. It was really smooth, and the paint wasn't sticking that well. I roughed it up with a sanding flapper thing for my dremel. When I get a new can of durabake I will hit it again. Hopefully results will be better this time.

Is that the ACE AKFX-FS kit?
What length stock did you go with?

Any reason you didn't have it fold to the right? Did the stock not clear the charging handle in that configuration?

The stock came with the pistol when I bought it, as did the folding mech. I have no idea which model #'s they are or what the length is, but I can measure the length tonight. It will not clear the charging handle when folded to the right in this configuration.

did you modify the ace adapter by grinding off the nub that hits the rear of the receiver?  or did you notch the receiver for the nub?  no special arrangements for the 4 or 6 degree slant to the receiver back??   This might be easier than i thought.

Saw the pics of the screws at angles.  are then bent or just angled?  consider tapping the holes straight and eliminate the need for nuts?

[#20]
There was no nub on the folding mechanism that I got. It may have been ground off by the guy I bought it from. I didn't thread the rear trunnion for the screws, I don't think there would be enough meat there anyway. I'd go ahead and use some sort of nut rather than trust that the thin trunnion would hold it if you did thread it. I could be wrong through.

As for the bolts themselves, they're not bent, just crooked from the curvature in the rear trunnion. Also I did nothing for the receiver slant on the back. The angle is negligible, and if anything helps with getting a better site picture IMO.
