| OK, OutdoorAmerica has a deal on a M96, new with a Magna-ported barrel. They're running a deal tomorrow of 5-40% off everything, I need to know high end max worth here. They are asking $1195 right now, who knows about tomorrow. I thought I would go by there again during the sale and see what they were asking. Come on Rot, how much is too much, and what would be a steal? |

Magna ported barrel for what? See how much for just a standard carbine, or rifle then $150 for a KKF cutdown and break. $1100 max...cash and carry Hehehhehe..... I used mine Sunday night at our annual dove fest. The field owner took 5 shots, rested with a FAL at a propane tank at 200 yds. I popped it first shot rested! FINE ass shootin' weapon! I also had my first squibb round of my life that day! Wolf .223! |

without getting too judgemental, i think that is just....GAY! on a $4000 safari rifle...i can see it. on a $3000 sporting clays over and under i can see it. but on an m-96??? real men want a big honkin' brake up there to impress the ladies with! that's right! a manly man has a big brake...up front! where it counts! |

Balzac, Accuracy I would put it on the level of an HBar Colt, both right our of the box. Muzzle climb=0, Recoil=0 Down side is field stripping is a bitch, but less frequent than an AR because it dosen't dump burnt powder into the action. A Best Buy IMNSHO! Campy, hehehehe... HBar may buy it if you call it GAY! BWAHAHAHAHhahaha... gotta agree I had Kurt Wala fab me a Stoner knock off break for mine, and lop the BBL off to carbine length. Definately on MANS MAN of a rifle, not some homo magna port! |
| I guess it's a way for them to put something out on the end without screwing with the parts count. Looks kinda neat, the barrel is swelled two inches from the end and ported. I just wanted to know cost, and if there is anything with the newer models that I should avoid. Will check back here in an hour or so before I head to the shop at lunch. |

I think they are a damn neat weapon. But personally, I can't/won't pay $1100+ for a weapon that doesn't do it any better than my Bushy. The price range of the M96 gets you into pre ban AR range(or Pre Ban AK and then some range). Yes, I understand why Robinson "has" to sell them for this much(supply and demand, sales volume, etc.), but what can I say, it is my personal feelings. Did I mention I think it is a damn neat weapon(I just would like to see them ramp up enough to get the price down a bit). |
