Hey guys, new to the forum. I've seen some good stuff so maybe I can get some help too. I have a MAK 90 that shoots extremely high and right and I can't seem to figure out why, the bore sight is dead on with the iron sights and the barrel seems to have little wear. An example of the accuracy I am getting is that I was shooting at 15 yards and not even hitting paper with my front sight as high as it goes. The only way I could even get on paper is to aim below the bottom of the target. Any ideas as to what is going on? Maybe slightly bent barrel or sights? Should I just bite the bullet and send it to a gunsmith? Thanks guys

What setting on rear sight? Does it have a muzzle attachment? Take out the bolt carrier and put a white patch or piece of paper in the receiver. Get in good light and sight down the barrel from the muzzle. The hole at the chamber should be concentric with the hole at the muzzle, including the hole in the attachment, if any. Is the muzzle crown fully plated, along with the bore, with no damage visible? The MAK90 should not have a threaded barrel for an attachment - if it does, it was done after importation and the threads may be crooked, causing the attachment to be crooked, which will affect the POI. That's about all I can think of at the moment.

Barrel crown. . . .

No muzzle attachment and the interior of the barrel is clean as can be. Could the chrome plating be uneven? and would a ding in the crown really cause such serious lack of accuracy?

Poor accuracy and a off POA/POI is two differnet things. Get a really big peice of card board and set it at 25m and shot a group you can get on the cardboard and measure. If it's a nice tight even group it's not your crown or bore condition. A POA/POI issue stems from out of spec or canted sights or as mentioned the barrel is in the trunion off center.

That's another one. I had not heard of that before but can see how it would whack out the sighting. I think the barrel has to be bent to throw it off that bad.
