I have a Norinco MAK 90 with the straight cut reciever, not the angled nonsense, and am curious about two things: According to 922r rules, after putting on the pistol grip and stock, how many US parts must I add to make it legal? What are some parts that you guys have put on and would they be easy for a beginner to install? Since the handguard is two pieces, is that two US parts? Is the stock considered a separate part than the pistol grip? Thanks |

No more than 10 atf-defined furrin parts. How to get there: muzzle device counts as another part if milled, no separate front trunion, so 4 US w/o muzzle device if stamped, 5 US w/o muzzle device Handguards are 1, must be all US to qualify. Most start with a US fcg, hts, to get 3. Pistol grip, butt stock and handguards count as 1 each. Gas pistons also count, are only $20, not hard to swap either. Now you have 7 to choose from, plus optional muzzle devices. |
That is beautiful!! I am doing the same with my "caught in the 89 ban in customs" Polytech right now, just waiting on the chinese wood to come in, my compliance parts (US piston, hammer, trigger, disconnector, pistol grip, and slant muzzle brake) are already installed. Is that a foreign pistol grip 89grand? I ask because I would love to have one like that, but right now will have to settle with a US made black plastic one for parts compliance (I dont want to have to fool around with US made floorplates and followers in all my mags) If I could find a US made pistol grip like that I would dive on it!! |
