(I have not done the front latch yet) So I just removed the rear trunnion block PITA and drilled a few small holes in conjunction with the trunnion (these come with a folder trunnion installed)
then I used a dremel with a small stone wheel and hogged it out til close to the trunnion. thennnnn used a small file set and took off material til I met the openings in the block. It was much easier than I thought it would be. The upper handguard came off a chinese or replica cheese grater gas tube that was damaged so I cut it to fit and welded to the tube in the same fashion it was welded originally.
