My neighbor just showed me his Mac 90. The furniture (thumb-hole stock) is a very dark brown and the serial number is 343XX. The other major marking on the rifle (in addition to the Norinco seal) is "CJA SFLO MI." I'm guessing that tells who the importer was. (It also has the standard "Mac-90" and "7.62X39 Caliber" markings.)

He says he bought the rifle NIB years ago and has never fired it. He also has all of the original accouterments that came with the rifle, including the box. The rifle has only one scratch and that was caused by the selector lever. Otherwise, it looks to be in pristine condition.

Based on my description and without actually seeing the rifle, what would it be worth in today's market?

Thanks.

And just so you know, it is a MAK-90, not MAC-90.  Wouldn't pay more than 400 for one NIB.

Thanks, blurted.
I really did know it was MAK (habit

Does MAK stand for Chinese "Model AK 90"?

I would pay based on the receiver.  For a straight cut stamped receiver $400, for a milled $450, and for a slant cut stamped receiver, $350.  The slant cut is more of a pain in the ass to buy furniture for.
