| Some of my foriegn steel mags do not lock up when I put them into the rifle. This a Romy G kit on a new USA receiver 7.62x39. What are the usual causes for this ?? Is there something I can adjust or is this just the nature of the beast?? |

On all 3 of my builds I have to remove a little material for the safety stop at the rear of the magwell. For that you can use a file, just don't take too much off. I have also had to remove a little material from the top of the mag lock. I did this by cutting a finer grade of sandpaper into a long thin strip. Then threaded the sand paper over the top of the mag lock lever into the trigger guard and pull back and forth. Be sure to keep trying the mags as you go. If the well is too tight, you can take a little off the sides and rear of the well just go really slow as it's really easy to take to much off resulting in mag wobble. |
